ALEX PITSCH (SR)
MONROE WRESTLING
WINTER 2021-22

Alex returned to the mat after breaking his leg on the football field in October, going undefeated in the regular season, earning an SWBL championship and being named the SWBL Wrestler of the year.

He was a sectional champion, placed third at districts and advanced to the OHSAA Div. II State Wrestling Tournament for the second consecutive season.

Alex finished his career with 122 wins and 84 pins for the Hornets.

RILEY MCMONIGLE (SR)
MONROE GIRLS BOWLING
WINTER 2021-22

Riley was as consistent as they come for the Hornets in her senior season.

She bowled her way to several school records this season, including High Game (258), 2-Game Series (429), Season Average (174.5), Total Pins (7,507), Most Games Over 200 in a Season (10) and Most Games Over 200 in a Career (12).

FALL 2021

Elijah finished the season with a Monroe High School record 1,941 total rushing yards in a season. His 1,855 regular season yards were a league best.

He also set a school single-game rushing record with 403 yards vs Western Brown on 9/3/21.

Elijah led the Hornets with 20 touchdowns and helped the Hornets to a league best 360 yards per game.

Elijah was named SWBL Co-Offensive Player of the Year and First Team All SWBL. He also earned First Team All Southwest District.

KEIRRA THOMPSON (JR)

FALL 2021

A fierce competitor, she does all of her ‘talking’ through her play on the pitch.¬†Keirra led the Hornets with 13 goals in just 10 games, which tied her for third in the SWBL East. She also had 6 assists on the season.

Keirra was named First Team All SWBL as well as First Team All Miami Valley.

WEEK 1: AUG 16 – AUG 22

Alex led the Hornets to a 49-14 victory over Talawanda with 2 Touchdowns on two passing attempts for 82 yards and 2 rushing touchdowns, racking up 72 yards on just 9 carries.

WEEK 2: AUG 23 – AUG 29

Riley finished first in the Girls 2-Mile at the Alex Fultz Invitational on Monday, with a time of 13:32.00, helping earn the Hornets a second place team finish.

WEEK 3: AUG 30 – SEP 5

Elijah broke Monroe High School’s single-game rushing record, amassing 403 yards on 36 touches, averaging 11.2 yards per carry and 3 touchdowns in the Hornets 66-58 win over Western Brown on Friday.

WEEK 4: SEP 6 – SEP 12

Ryan rushed for 154 yards on just 10 carries with two touchdowns in a win over Brookville, bringing his team-high total to 8 trips to the end zone this season.

WEEK 5: SEP 13 – SEP 19

Brooklynn helped her team to two wins last week, scoring 2 goals versus Carrol, followed up with 1 goal and 2 assists against Franklin.

WEEK 6: SEP 20 – SEP 26

Gretchen has played a significant role in the Hornets success this season, including their recent wins over Ross, Waynesville and Franklin. She leads her team in blocks and brings lots of energy to the court.
